Dr Evans Sakyi Boadu is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Sustainable Development and Policy, School of Sustainable Development (SSD), University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD), Somanya, Ghana. After earning a BA in Political Science with Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana (UG), Ghana, he went on to earn his MA in Administration/Public Administration (MPA) (Thesis Option) and PhD in Public Administration at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), Cape Town, South Africa (SA). He has a certificate in Cultural Policy and Sustainable Development from the University of Bergen (UiB), Bergen, Norway. Evans has held a postdoctoral research fellow position at the School of Public Health, UWC, Cape Town, and the School of Governance, University of Witwatersrand (WITS), Johannesburg, South Africa. He was an Associate Lecturer at the School of Government (SoG), UWC, Cape Town, SA, a Research and Administrative Assistant at the Institute for Poverty, Lands, and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), Cape Town, SA, as a Postgraduate Teaching and Research Assistant at the SoG, UWC, as a Teaching Assistant at the Political Science Department, West University of Timisoara, Romania.

Evans has had a variety of research and teaching experiences at numerous universities and research organizations, including UWC, WITS, the West University of Timisoara (UVT) in Timisoara, Romania, and the University of Ghana (UG) in Ghana, serving as an intellectually curious emerging researcher in policy, governance, and evaluation in Africa, he has instructed undergraduate and graduate courses. As an emerging academic and researcher, he served as a reviewer and examiner for some accredited academic institutions and reputable academic journals. He worked as a field research assistant for the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), Ghana, Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER), UG, and Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), Cape Town, South Africa. He is a member of the South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA), the Canadian Association of African Studies (CAAS), and the Institute for Local Government Management (ILGM) in South Africa.

Dr Boadu has served as an Erasmus research scholar at the West University of Timisoara, Timisoara, Romania and won several academic fellowships and awards, some of which include the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship at the South African-German Centre for Development Research (SA-GER), Cape Town, South Africa, 2016-17; Bergen Summer Research School Fellowship, University of Bergen, Norway, 2019; European Commission, Erasmus Student Mobility Fellowship, West University of Timisoara (WUT), Timisoara, Romania 2019-20; South African (SA) National Research Foundation (NRF) Postdoctoral Fellowship 2021-22, World Evaluation Case Competition African Championship Award, 2020, and the WITS Centennial Postdoctoral Fellowship, 2023. His research interests include governance, policy monitoring and evaluation, culturally/indigenous responsive evaluation, social policy, indigenous knowledge systems, community-based development, and child and youth studies with a focus on Ghana and South Africa, and Africa at large. He has a significant body of academic work in these research areas and has presented several scholarly papers at prestigious national, continental, and international conferences.
