SEVEN MEMBER INTERIM EXECUTIVE OF UESD, SRC, SWORN INTO OFFCE.

A seven (7) member interim SRC executive of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, UESD has been sworn into office.
It has Mr. Certainly Djangetey as the interim President.

This was at a brief ceremony held at the Multipurpose Auditorium of the University, situated at Somanya in the Eastern Region.

The ceremony was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, Management, Faculty as well as some members of staff.

The interim SRC President, Mr. Certainly Djangetey, makes history by becoming the first SRC President of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, UESD.

The other executive members are: Vice President:-Nana Abena K. Gyamfi, Secretary-Fannila Nartey and Treasurer-Joseph Kofi Oshiakor. The rest are: Ira Laud Listowel Louis- Organiser, Kwasi Nyankeh Mensah-Sports Co-ordinator and Portia Teye as the Women’s Commissioner.

A Senior Assistant Registrar, SAR, in charge of Academic Affairs,, Mr. Kofi Nimo Amponsah administered the oath of office for the executives.

In his acceptance speech, the pioneer SRC President, Mr. Certainly Djangetey, thanked the student body for the confidence reposed in him and his team to lead them. He pledged to work hard to fulfil their dreams.

The interim SRC President also expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, the Registrar, Mrs. Mary Abena Agyepong, Management and staff of the University for supporting their course.

He appealed to Management to provide them with more recreational facilities to enable them to undertake other extra-curricular activities.

In a brief address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nyarko- Sampson, commended the newly sworn in executives for offering themselves for the task.

He urged them to as he puts it, ‘take it in their strides to put in their best in the act of service’. Prof. Nyarko-Sampson also assured them of Management’s readiness to work with them because they are a key part of the University, while urging them to go through the right channels to have their concerns addressed.

Other members of the UESD Management who also took turns to advice the interim SRC executives and urged them to leave a legacy for posterity as pioneers.

Afour member JCR/Hostel executive was also sworn into office. It has Bernard Akowah as the President, with Perpetual Tiwaa as the Vice President.
