Eastside Sankofa Industries Ghana, winners of the Nkabom Africa Case Competition,2026, have expressed appreciation to the Management of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) and the Nkabom Collaborative-UESD team for the immense support, exposure, and opportunities extended to the group through the initiative.
In an appreciation letter signed by the Business Development & Venture Lead, Mr. Aaron Tawiah Blagodzi, and addressed to the Vice-Chancellor and Project Investigator, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, the group acknowledged the significant impact of the Nkabom Collaborative on student innovation and entrepreneurship.
It notes that the Nkabom Collaborative has, over the past months, provided a highly impactful platform for experiential learning, innovation, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and student-led development. ‘Through training, engagements, competitions, networking opportunities, and institutional support systems under the project, students have been empowered to develop practical solutions to challenges in Ghana’s agrifood and nutrition ecosystem.’
The letter highlighted the opportunity to participate in the Ashesi Nkabom Agrifood Student Networking Day, held under the theme “Collaboration and Innovation for Food Security.” The team described the event as a valuable platform that offered meaningful interactions with students, researchers, innovators, industry players, and development stakeholders from partner institutions within the Collaborative.
As a youth-led agro-processing and circular nutrition venture emerging from the UESD Innovation and Incubation ecosystem, Eastside Sankofa Industries Ghana says it continues to benefit greatly from the mentorship, encouragement, and enabling environment created through the Nkabom initiative.
The letter indicated that such opportunities have strengthened the team’s capacity, broadened its perspective, and inspired members to pursue innovative and community-driven solutions that contribute to sustainable food systems, improved nutrition outcomes, youth employment, and local economic development.
The group further extended appreciation to Mastercard Foundation, the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Project Coordinator, Nkabom Collaborative-UESD, Prof. Edward Wiafe Debrah, the Registrar and Project Administrator, Mrs. Mary Abena Agyepong, the Training Coordinator, Ms. Cynthia Oduro, as well as the UESD Incubation Hub for their guidance and dedication towards the success of the Nkabom Collaborative-UESD and its students.
“We remain grateful for the confidence reposed in us and look forward to contributing meaningfully to the vision and impact of the Collaborative,” the statement concluded.
