CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: THE 6TH ANNUAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

Conference Theme: Environmental Contamination and Agri-Food Systems in Ghana: Threats

and Opportunities from a Multi-Stakeholder Perspective

Date: 1st-4th September, 2026

Overview

The Joint Steering Committee of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) and the UESD-NKABOM Project invites researchers, academics, post-graduate students, practitioners, and policymakers to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations at the 6th Annual Sustainable Development Conference. We seek empirical research papers, systematic reviews, and action-oriented case studies that diagnose environmental contamination across Ghana’s agri-food landscapes and offer scalable solutions, particularly those that can be commercialized by youth-led enterprises or integrated into national policy.

Thematic Tracks for Submission

Authors are invited to submit abstracts aligned with the following conference sub-themes:

  1. Agri-food system, food safety threats and opportunities
  2. Clinical, Nutritional, and Public Health
  3. Environment, Ecosystems, and Water Pollution
  4. Socio-Economics and Livelihood Dynamics
  5. Policy, Governance, and Customary Systems
  6. Technological Solutions and Innovation for Water and Soil Restoration

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract Format: Abstracts must be written in English, not exceeding 300 words in total.
  • Structure: Submissions must clearly state the Title, Author(s) names, Affiliation(s), Email of the corresponding author, Background/Objective, Methodology, Key Findings, and Policy/Practical Implications.
  • Keywords: Provide 3 to 5 keywords.
  • Format: Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, 12pt font, single-spaced.
  • Submission Portal: Email your abstract to conference@uesd.edu.gh with the subject line format: Abstract Submission: [Track Number] – [Author Last Name].

Key Timeline Dates

  • Opening of Abstract Submissions: June 1st, 2026
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: July 30th, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: August 10th, 2026
  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: August 24th, 2026
