UESD and Cross World Group Ltd. Sign to Undertake Development Projects

The University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Crossworld Group Ltd, an investment and development organisation, to undertake development projects on campus.

The MoU, signed on 25th March, 2024 in Accra by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, and the CEO of Cross World Group Ltd, Mr. Johnson Torwudzo was observed by members of both institutions in Accra.

Prof. Nyarko-Sampson emphasised the University’s commitment to producing graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills to drive positive change in environmental sustainability. He highlighted the significance of the partnership with Cross World Group Ltd to help realize the institution’s vision. Mr. Torwudzo expressed Cross World’s readiness to contribute to the advancement of UESD’s objectives.

Under the Agreement, the collaboration will focus on the development, operation, and construction of critical projects on UESD campus. The projects include residential accommodation, lecture theatres, buses, manufacturing, and ICT equipment. The resources are expected to significantly contribute to the University’s ability to offer a more conducive learning and research environment.

Another component of the partnership is the focus on community engagement and policy development for sustainable practices. The agreement aims to foster initiatives such as Community-Based Experiential Learning (CoBEL) and facilitate exchange programmes to enrich the educational experience at UESD.

The collaborative agreement also addresses financing arrangements, operational responsibilities during the initial phase, and the eventual transfer of ownership and operations to the university within the agreed period.

Both parties have committed to maintaining confidentiality regarding proprietary information exchanged during the collaboration, ensuring mutual trust and respect.

They also expressed enthusiasm for the potential impact of the agreement and jointly affirmed their dedication to seeing the successful execution of the projects.
