Hammond Oppong Kwarteng holds Ph.D. in International Conflict Management from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC), Accra, and an M.Phil. in Human Rights from the University of Education, Winneba.
Dr. Hammond Oppong Kwarteng is currently a Senior Assistant Registrar in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, in the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, Somanya. He is the founding President of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), UESD Local Branch, and a member of UESD’s Governing Council as the representative of Convocation (Non-Teaching).
Before his appointment, he joined the Catholic University College of Ghana (CUCG) in 2011 as an Assistant Registrar in charge of Examinations. He held several positions such as Coordinator of Programmes Affiliated to the University of Cape Coast, Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor, and Head of University Relations and Publicity Unit.
Hammond served as Governing Council Member of CUCG as the representative of Convocation (Non-Teaching) for two consecutive terms (2017-2021).
Dr. Oppong Kwarteng has held several Senior Management Administrative positions in the Ghana Civil Service, including, Regional Director, Department of Children of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Brong-Ahafo Region (2006-2011),
He obtained his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Cape Coast in 2001. Hammond is a practicing Catholic and a member of the Catholic Men’s Society.
His research interest includes Human Rights, Peace and Security, Conflict Management, Gender, Women Rights, and Children’s Rights.
