Mr. Derrick Tobor is a highly imaginative, flexible, innovative, and fervent individual who possesses a considerable amount of knowledge regarding administrative and office procedures. A swift learner who can absorb new ideas and is experienced in coordinating, planning and organizing a wide range of administrative activities
Derrick is now an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor at Environment and Sustainable Development. Holds an HND in Secretaryship and Management Studies from Accra Technical University.
He started his career with Reformed Mission Academy as a Tutor in 2012 and later joined St. Andy’s Preparatory School as an ICT Tutor and Administrative Assistant in charge of admissions.
In 2017 he joined CSIR-Animal Research Institute as an Administrative Assistant in the Finance Department as an intern. He then took up a part time teaching job in Glorious Light and Brooks Academy in 2018.
Derrick joined the then National council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) now Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) as a National Service Person (Administrative Assistant) where he ensured office procedures and systems operate efficiently and also handles requests for information and data in the Registry Department.
He joined the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) as an intern where he served as secretary to the Vetting Committee (Mr. Baffour Awuah Kwabi’s Committee) appointed to vet and shortlist qualified applicant for Finance, Audit Stores and Procurements for selection interview in 2020. Provided training and orientation for the National Service Personnel regarding administrative and office procedures.
He played a supervisory role by providing all necessary documents to the various Appointment Boards for the Selection Interview. He assisted the Registrar in drafting and typing the appointment letters for the selected applicants.
Derrick was then appointed as the first secretary to the Vice-Chancellor of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) to maintain daily schedules and co-ordination of the Vice-Chancellor’s commitments, to arrange and coordinate appointments and meeting for the Vice-Chancellor and to prepare all correspondences and other documentation as may be requested by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time as well as to aptly execute any other obligations as directed by the Vice-Chancellor, or other Senior Officers.
Derrick is punctual and reliable and have a patient outlook. He pays attention to details. His effective organisational skills enable him to resolve administrative problems and also supervise other clerical staff.
