The University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD), Somanya Eastern Region hosted a collaborative interaction with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ, at the Auditorium, Multi-Purpose Building of the University. The event, which focused on innovative online courses in cashew production, processing, marketing, and agribusiness, witnessed a participation from faculty, staff, and students.
The interactive session aimed at equipping the UESD community with cutting-edge skills for agribusiness.
Delivering her presentation, A Communications Specialist at GIZ, Ms. Adiza N. Yesseh, took participants through the various courses they can enroll on including RCN Quality Measurement, harvest and post-harvest practices on the cashew farm, introduction to conservation Agriculture, the cashew processing process, opportunities and challenges in cashew processing, and RCN Processing Equipment. She emphasised that the courses are carefully designed to enhance knowledge in key areas including cashew production, processing, marketing, and broader agribusiness. She further highlighted that the ultimate goal of the training is to empower learners to apply their new knowledge in real-world situations, leading to improved productivity, increased income, and enhanced profitability.
Ms. Yesseh concluded by encouraging participants to take advantage of the opportunities to build their professional capacity in agribusiness.
