Developing Economies: Exploring Policies, and Scientific Options

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement have upscaled and renewed commitment towards changes in production and consumption patterns.  The SDG 12 calls for a comprehensive set of actions from businesses, policy-makers, researchers and consumers to adopt sustainable practices. It envisions sustainable production and consumption based on advanced technological capacity, resource efficiency and reduced global waste. The United Nations explains that “sustainable consumption and production is about promoting resource and energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services, green and decent jobs and a better quality of life for all. Its implementation helps to achieve overall development plan, reduces future economic, environmental and social cost, strengthens economic competitiveness and reduces poverty.”  As part of the systemic process to surmount these triple global crises of climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and waste, government, policy-makers, practitioners, and customers must move toward sustainable production and consumption patterns.

In view on this, the University of Environment and Sustainable is organizing the 3rd Sustainable Development Conference with the aim of exploring evidence-based policy and scientific options through research for the transformation of developing economies and societies, and work towards the SDG 12.

Papers can be submitted by interested researchers and practitioners for oral and poster presentations under the following thematic areas:
