Dr. Emmanuel Opoku Ware is currently the Director of Internal Audit Directorate of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, Somanya. As the Director of Internal Audit, he is the Chief Audit Executive of the University. He reports administratively to the Vice Chancellor and functionally to Audit Committee of the University Council.

Prior to his appointment as the Director of Internal Audit, he was the Senior Managing Partner of First Corporate Accountants and Consultants (Chartered Accountants) – Republic House, Accra and Managing Director of Opoku Ware and Co. (Financial Engineering Services Limited) Kumasi and Sunyani. Again, he was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in-charge of Finance and Internal controls at Rhovanni Royal Limited, Ghana. He also worked as Business Development Manager and a Senior Lecturer in Auditing and Assurance at the Graduate School of Christian Service University College, Kumasi.

He has practicing experience as Lead Auditor, External Auditor and Internal Auditor from 2002 to date.
Additionally, he has acquired extensive knowledge, skills and experience in leadership and managerial practices in the areas such as strategic planning, tax planning, corporate governance, internal control formulation, risk management and evaluations.

Dr. Opoku Ware was a Senior Lecturer in Auditing, Advanced Accounting and Taxation in the Faculty of Applied Sciences – Methodist University and E.P. University College (HO) Ghana, a Dean of the Business Education Faculty of the Mfantseman Institute of Technology (University College) affiliated to the University of Cape Coast- Cape Coast (2015 -2017), MSc. (Accounting & Finance), Adjunct Lecturer in Research Techniques in Accounting and Finance, Auditing and Assurance with IDL- Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology. Also, an Examiner for the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) in Taxation, Financial Reporting and Advanced Financial Management and Strategic Case Study.

Dr. Opoku Ware has been in academia and industry for over 18 years. His practicing interests are in Strategic Management, Public Finance, Taxation and Fiscal Policy, Auditing, Accounting Theory, Cost and Management Accounting, Advanced Issues in Financial Reporting, Public Sector Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting and Accounting for Sustainability, Financial Management, Investment and Risk Management, Corporate Finance and Financial Markets etc.
Professionally, he is a Chartered Accountant and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana). Also hold professional membership with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a Fellow of Association of International Accountants, UK and Master Financial Controller from the American Academy of Financial Management, USA.
He is a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and hold a post-graduate certificate in Forensic and Investigative Accounting and Auditing from the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
He is a graduate of Yale School of Management (Yale University), American University, Washington DC, University of Leicester (MBA) etc. and a Visiting Scholar Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London.
He is a Chartered Economist and a Fellow in Chartered Petroleum Economics, from the Association of Certified Chartered Economist (ACCE) Ghana & USA.
He was a Practicing Accountant with over 15 years working experience in both public and private sector institutions with 15-years as External Auditor / Consultant to mining companies and other financial institutions.
He also has to his credit over 29 academic research papers -conferences, journal publications and books in Auditing and Taxation, Accounting & Finance, Strategic Management, Macro-Economics and Public Finance. etc. He also served on a number of Boards, Committees, ad-hoc, seminars and Symposiums in academia, industries and practicing.

Currently I am working on two areas relating to Finance and Investment and two areas relating to Accounting and Risk. The first area is the role of private information in international equity markets. The second is how to design optimal portfolios of International equities while accounting for many potential problems in the areas of Accounting and Risk.
